Ben Cipolla is a Bristol-based singer-songwriter, known for his rich, velvety vocals and distinctive guitar playing. Like Nick Drake, he brings a quiet intensity and subtle tenderness to his music, while drawing inspiration from Jack Johnson’s effortless warmth and understated storytelling style. More recently, his songwriting has embraced the intricate musicianship and playful creativity associated with artists such as Jacob Collier and Coldplay, while remaining unmistakably his own. Cipolla has a gift for finding stories in everyday moments, turning them into memorable songs that connect with listeners on a personal level.

His performances are captivating, intimate and inventive - transforming familiar songs into something unexpected and original work into something timeless. With an endearing stage presence, natural humour and relaxed chat between songs, Cipolla creates a genuine connection with audiences, combining exceptional musicianship with a live experience that feels both personal and engaging.

During the 2026 World Cup, Cipolla’s songwriting reached a huge new audience when his football songs celebrating England’s Djed Spence and Dan Burn captured the nation’s imagination, amassing over 15 million views across social media. The success led to appearances on Sky Sports Breakfast Show, BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Radio 1, Absolute Radio and BBC Introducing. His latest releases have continued to connect with listeners, surpassing 20,000 streams in their first week and reinforcing his ability to craft songs where melody and storytelling sit at the heart of a sound that feels both fresh and familiar.

Born in Wiltshire and now based in Bristol, Cipolla draws inspiration from his Sicilian heritage, explored most notably on his acclaimed second album, Casa Mia. His third album, Hot Tub Tears (October 2026), marks his most ambitious project to date, exploring heartbreak, resilience and hope through a deeply personal collection of songs.
 

Alongside his solo work, Cipolla has performed with award-winning jazz vocalist Clare Teal. Their debut collaborative EP, Love and Affection, released in March 2026, has surpassed 30,000 streams and further showcased Cipolla’s versatility as a musician across the jazz and contemporary music worlds.

 

His career has included performances at the BBC Swing Jazz Prom at the Royal Albert Hall, WOMAD, Manchester Jazz Festival and Shambala, alongside national airplay from BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 2. From prestigious concert halls and festival stages to viral moments reaching millions online, Ben Cipolla continues to build a reputation as a compelling performer, accomplished guitarist and distinguished songwriter.
